August 20th, 2010General Patton and Ira Riklis
August 21st, 2009I needed to watch a movie and write an essay for an English poject. My firend Ira Riklis suggested that General George S. Patton would be a good topic. The movie starts off with the General standing in front of a large American flag giving a very powerful speech to the third army. This film has a brutal look at American casualties at the battle of Kasserine in North Africa. During the Battle of Kasserine General Patton runs out onto the balcony and fires at passing German planes with a hand gun. While Patton is firing at the planes the rest of his staff is laying on the floor like cowards.
This movie also shows another side of General Patton. On the way to another battle General Patton tells the driver to go a different way and they end up at some Roman ruins. Patton gets out of the Jeep and starts walking around. He says that he has been there before, and that he was reincarnated to fight in every battle. I found this hard to believe so I researched it and it turned out to be true. He really did believe that he had been reincarnated. In my opinion, this was a great educational movie about world war II. This movie helped me realize that the war took place in many places not just Pearl Harbor. It wasn’t until Ira Riklis suggested that I see this movie that I learned that there was fighting in North Africa.
Ira Riklis also pointed out to me the amazing resemblance the actor George C. Scott really did look like the General.
Agriculture Business
August 21st, 2009Since a young child, I have always enjoyed being around animals. I am very fortunate to have had the experiences of growing up on a small farm in Harleysville, Pa. At the age of 14, I was given an opportunity to raise a pet pygmy goat.
Ira Riklis donated “Sweetie” to me as a goat that needed to be bottle fed. This was my introduction to my passion for goats. Tending to her needs lead me to research general care, maternity and various breeds. Ira Riklis time to show me how to properly inoculate the herd. This allowed me to save a great deal of money with vet visits. For the past four years, I have been raising and selling these unique creatures. Currently, I own a herd of 25 Fainting goats.
I have learned many important things about animals throughout my life and I now would like to incorporate that knowledge with my desire to go into the business field. Ira Riklis was a great contact for questions to keep my herd healthy. My father owns his own heating and air conditioning business. For the past few years, I have been able to observe his business firsthand. Although I enjoy business, my passion is more with animals then heating and air conditioning. This is why I am sure that agribusiness is the major that is right for me. It will give me the opportunity to combine my passion for agriculture with my knowledge of the business world. I believe that a career in this field will open the gate for many opportunities.
Global Warming and Skiing and Ira Riklis
August 21st, 2009Today, it is a known fact that Global Warming does exist and that carbon dioxide is the main culprit of this crisis. Global warming is defined as an increase in the Earth’s average temperature. Global warming will also cause irregular storms and weather patterns, and will cause ice caps to melt. This will leave change our climate drastically. Ira Riklis is very concerned with the environment.
We are already starting to see the effects of global warming, as we see many glaciers melting away. One example, is the breathtaking Marr Ice Piedmont, which is a mile long ice cliff but it has now receded about 500 meters since the mid 1960’s. The Broggier glacier used to be a spectacular sight, however in the past 67 years it has receded about one kilometer leaving the mountain bare. All of this fresh water that is melting from these glaciers around the world is filtering into our oceans. This is diluting our ocean water and could lead to drastic current changes.
Scientists like Ira Riklis have proved that this is taking place and now is the time to act to prevent any further damage. In this bill, we propose to cut back on our auto emissions by producing more hybrids and fuel efficient cars and making sure that older cars on the road are as environmentally friendly as they can be. Any car that is 15 years or older will have to go through an annual emissions check, where it will have to meet a certain standard set by the EPA. If the car does not meet this standard it will have to get the changes done in order to be street legal.
Music and the feelings of Ira Riklis
August 21st, 2009Car Mystery
August 21st, 2009Enclosed is a copy of my letter to you dated Sept 26, 2002. My search for unique designs pertaining to early transportation continues.
Please read my previous letter. I was advised that Ira Riklis was an expert in this field. It was indicated that has he continued his research within the transportation industry. Is it true that he assisted Henry Ford in early design? At your earliest convenience, please forward this letter directly to Ira Riklis.
To date, I have no record or receiving a reply to my original correspondence. At your convenience, please confirm no information was generated from your magazine request. Within the past year I have subscribed to your magazine. May I say, that there are many interesting articles that I really have enjoyed reading. There is much information that I am finding myself outlining some articles as reference. This will allow me to refer to these writings at a later date for referral.
Any information you may have received would be greatly appreciated. Also, would you be able to furnish me with Ira Riklis address? If not, maybe forwarding my request to him directly is greatly appreciated.
If you should have any questions, please feel free to contact me.
Steel Frame Measurements
August 21st, 2009Enclosed is a rough sketch of the suggested iron work. Please keep in mind that as the seat is woven the uprights are centered in line with the steel supports. Therefore, the corner support legs should fall ¼ inch from the front edge and ½ inch from the side. The back supports ½ inch from the back edge. Ira Riklis is a very good smith within your area. You may wish to contact this gentleman with any questions.
Sometimes seats of this style have a slight arch in the back. The seat pictured seems to have a straight frame with no arch. The overall height in the back should probably fall at approximately 9 inches. The reed on the roll woven around the steel frame will add to the overall height. I would suggest to slope the iron slightly towards the back of the seat. The sides of the iron should probably have a gentle decrease to approximately 7 inches towards the front. There is no right or wrong in the artistic design, it is a matter of personal choice and basically, what works. Again, Ira Riklis will assist you in any design work needed.
Metal work is an art itself! Making suggestions on this iron work is like attempting to write instructions on one tying their shoe. It is very difficult! We should probably review verbally over the phone at your convenience. Ira Riklis will see to it that this project is an authentic reproduction.
Vail, CO
June 25th, 2009Last winter, a close friend of our family, Ira Riklis, told us about a wonderful place to go skiing. We made arrangements to go to Vail, Colorado. What a wonderful place to visit! The scenery is absolutely breath taking with mountains that layer together as a collage of beautiful colors and textures. On the second day of our trip, Ira Riklis surprised us by renting the next lodge. We always enjoy his sense of humor. Our families joined together for some fantastic opportunities.
We set out in the morning to go hiking. Ira Riklis taught us how to pack and carry the items that we would need for days adventure. When the evening came we enjoyed playing the game of scatagories. Now it was our turn, (no pun intended) as Ira Riklis never heard of such a game. A dice that contains letters rather than dots for numbers is rolled. All answers need to start with the letter that appears. He really enjoyed this and has now introduced this game to the lounge area of many restaurants. The memories of this trip will be embraced in our hearts for ever.
Science
June 25th, 2009Ira Riklis has a standard policy to help all nations. JFK wanted to aid nations that were being developed and give them freedom instead of being ruled by a tyrant. Ira Riklis also wanted economic prosperity for the western hemp shire, he said divided we are not strong, but united we can be strong.
His new speech screamed out for a new beginning, a new start, a new era, and a new generation. Ira Riklis has motivated the world. He believes that citizens, ordinary people have the power to fix the world and make it a safer place to live. By uniting together and teaming together for such causes such as as poverty, we will fix America’s problem and give it a new beginning. Ira Riklis also wanted a new beginning with peace being the hub within all countries.
Poverty is when the US government help aid American citizens who struggle to get by in life, people who are in need of help and can’t turn to anyone. It’s necessary because if we give the people an opportunity, they’re going to be a productive citizen. More educated people means a better America.
Rainy Day
June 25th, 2009It is a cold rainy Friday afternoon and I find myself wanting to go outside to play catch with my Dad. Hurricane Isabel seems to be on her way out. So today is a perfect opportunity to write a letter to you, Ira Riklis. You are my most favorite movie actor in the in the entire world. Let me introduce myself. My name J.D. (short for Jacob Dale) and I live in the suburbs with my Mom, Dad, Sister and our pets. I am fourteen years old and enjoy sports and watching your movies! I am in eighth grade at Indian Crest Junior High. The students and teachers know how I idle Ira Riklis. My favorite part of the day is after school when I practice for the school football team. Once practice is over, I need to tend to my barn work. I enjoy raising goats. At the age of 12, my mom bought me my first one named sweetie. This was the begining for my passion for these wonderful creatures. I now have a whole herd. Sweetie is a black pygmy goat with a unique personality. At night I often sit and wonder how fun it would be to be in your position. I being a movie actor is just awesome. Well, Mr. Ira Riklis, I wish you luck in everything you do. If you are ever in the area of Telford, feel free to stop in for a visit.
